I had a bank loan about 20 years ago but I no longer have the details, can I claim PPI refund?

I’m no longer with that bank but paid my loan off in total. I can provide the branch details and my address at that time. I also had some credit cards and a mortgage which was also paid off but again have no documents now. Is there anyway I can check if I’m eligible to claim for mis sold PPIs? Thanks

I don’t think PPI was sold that long ago. You can write to the companies and ask. Do NOT use claim firms. The banks will reply. They did to me. UK

I think there is a 6 year limit on this claim and you would have to show you paid the protection in dispute. The companies who will do it for you may charge you for this service and there are no refunds if they do not claim on your behalf. They wanted £10 per card in my case just to write to the credit card companies involved. There is no guarantee they will take up your case. If you did not pay payment protection they will not even look at your case. Albeit a fee up front.
